Hello!

Welcome to my little world of all things print and botanical!

I am a full-time printmaker, living between the sea and the countryside in beautiful Dorset, where I am lucky enough to combine my love of drawing, printing and nature, with bringing up my family.

You will find me most days happily busying myself in my studio, with the music turned up, a frothy coffee on the go, and surrounded by jugs of collected foliage and leaves to inspire my next print. I am fuelled by the nature that surrounds me, drawing nearly everything from life, at my happiest arranging Still Life compositions from the treasures that I find on walks, or simplifying the intricate shapes of flowers and foliage to translate into bold, stylised prints.

The lockdowns of 2020 took me on a personal journey from a photographic Props Buyer to a self taught Printmaker, and I have translated the skills I learnt in the Photographic Studio into my printmaking practice; using composition, angles, shadow and colour to add texture and design to a piece. Coming full circle from Art College to learning the technicalities of Lino Printing (many many months of trial and a fair amount of error!), I am now firmly rooted in my happy place. Hooked on the traditional process; from the gentle effects of carving a block to the excitement of pulling the paper away for the ‘big reveal’; printmaking has focused my mind and taught me to embrace the unknown…no matter how much I plan, the print so often takes me in another direction! There is something rather lovely about working in this way; embracing the mistakes and working around them, so that each print has been on its own journey and has a story to tell. My designs are purposefully pared down and simplified, to evoke a feeling of simplicity and calm… I hope they bring you that same sense of joy and tranquility, wherever they find their home.
